Mission and Vision
Mission
The Cannabis Research for Type 1 Diabetes Foundation was established with a clear and specific goal: to investigate the role of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and cannabinoids in type 1 diabetes (T1D). We are focused on this one promising yet under-researched area.
All funds raised are entirely allocated to research aimed at answering questions about the role of the ECS in the pathogenesis and treatment of T1D.
Vision
We envision a world in which the role of the ECS and the potential of cannabinoids are fully explored, understood, and utilized in the treatment of chronic diseases such as type 1 diabetes.
Our dream is to:
- Investigate cannabinoid-based therapies in a reliable manner and in accordance with the highest scientific standards.
- Provide clear, evidence-based answers about the effectiveness of these therapies.
- Transform the perception of cannabinoids – from controversial substances to recognized therapeutic tools.
Why does it matter?
Type 1 diabetes is a disease that demands new therapeutic approaches, and the endocannabinoid system—responsible for maintaining the body’s homeostasis—may play a key role in improving the health of those with T1D. Our work is not just about research—it is about hope for a future in which science meets patient needs and new therapies become reality.
